Question Nokia, Symbian free signing accepts waivers?

    Hello,

I've posted this same question to publisher support team on Ovi store but because I got no answer from them I decided to ask the community, maybe some of you were in my position.

I want to develop an application for Symbian devices using C++. I want to publish it on ovi store.

I know that Nokia offers free symbiansigned express signing for ovi store registered publishers(

So here comes my question: I have to request a waiver for approval in order to pass one of the symbiansigned test criterias. Can I submit the waiver for approval at Nokia or Symbiansigned and once that is approved can I still sign the application via free service offered by Nokia? Will that cost me anything? Will it make any difference if I'll register(on publish.ovi.store) as a company or individual developer?(The signing process)

    Thanks!

Re: Nokia, Symbian free signing accepts waivers?

Here you have a more detailed description of the situation I'm in now:

I have to request(need) a waiver(this kind of waiver: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...bian_Signed%29 with clear description) for approval in order to pass one of the symbiansigned test criteria.
Should I submit the waiver for approval at Nokia or Symbiansigned?.... And once that is approved.... Can I still sign the application via free service offered by Nokia or the only way is to go with symbiansigned if I have a waiver approved?(Note that for symbiansigned I need a PID that will cost me some money)

Please let me know what part is not clear enough.

    Thanks!

If you want to take a little risk, just submit the app as it is.

If you want to do it the right way, get yourself the waiver, send an email to QA and submit the app like a normal app for signing.

Both of these are just WAGs of mine though, as I am not a QA man myself.

    Thanks for your answer tamhanna.

Is there anyone out there that can confirm that by doing it "the right way" : send the waiver to symbian.signed@nokia.com and assuming that this will be accepted, can I then still apply for free signing for ovi store?

    Hi Voda,
I don't think so - why not just try it?

    All the best
