    Re: E6/X7/Anna has broken WRT calendar API

    This problem is spreading like shit :P

    Latest victim: Nokia 5230
    As of firmware 50.0.001, this device can't run any WRT calendar widgets anymore too.

    Isalento,
    can you tell us if the fixed Anna will be released soon after initial Anna release, or is it not high priority?

    Re: E6 has broken WRT calendar API

    Hi,
    I think this might be a bit more serious than the Calendar API.
    I can't use the 'device' object to get data from Calendar, Sensors, SystemInfo, Location, ...

    Trying something as simples as:
    try{
    var x = device;
    alert("object device initialized correctly");
    }catch(e){
    alert("object device NOT initialized");
    alert("ERROR:" + e);
    }

    Generates an error 'Can't find variable device' (in the last alert).

    Just checking if it's available (if(device)...) would prevent the widget from working correctly (the rest of the code, I mean).

    If my guess is correct, no widget would be able to use any of the Platform Services. This mean ANY API that is (should be) available in WRT Widgets.
    Until this bug is corrected, Widgets will be nothing more than a plain Web Page opened in a regular Browser.
    All works fine if you don't have to get any kind of information from the device.

    Also, using an <embedded> tag in HTML (for controlling Vibration and getting Info about the device the old way) does not work either.
