Question Start Application (JAD) and Emulator from Command Line

    Hello all,

I am having trouble reading through the docs (!) to find useful information on how I can start the emulator from the command line and run my application from the command line straight away. It seems this is possible from what I have read so far, but I can't figure out what I need to do.

I am using the Symbian ^3 SDK with the default Nokia_Symbian3_SDK_v1.0 emulator device. I am using a windows machine and I have created a midlet.

Btw, what phone is this emulting or is it just the platforn?

I really appreciate any help on this as.

Re: Start Application (JAD) and Emulator from Command Line

    Thank you for your reply.

I saw that thread before posting mine and I tried the command. However, I managed to get a missing .dll file error. "the application failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found".

I am in the middle of resintalling the SDK from scratch but that thread is from 2003 - is it still relvant? Does it work for anyone here using the latest Symbian ^|3 1.0 SDK?

Re: Start Application (JAD) and Emulator from Command Line

I just tried reinstalling the Symbian^3 SDK again and it worked fine except a noitce of "unable to set Qt Environment set it manually" which I don't think is lethal. I tried the following command to run the emulator manually:

    C:\Nokia\devices\Nokia_Symbian3_SDK_v1.0\bin>emulator.exe -classpath C:\Documents and Settings\Abs\workspace\campaigncog\deployed\ccog.jar;ccog.jar -Xdescriptor:ccog.jad preview

I get the message "the application failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found" and then on the dos window, I get: "ERROR: Cannot start Series 60 SDK for MIDP".

I really hope someone can help!
