    You would propably need to actually do some real coding there, thus check the audio playing examples from the wiki, and add the codes to your project. then again I'm not certain whether the M3U files would be supported, and if the playing fails, (and the code works with other more normal formats), then you could think about for the need of using some other audio format,

    Re: How to play the M3U files in my player???

    The m3u file format is described, e.g., here: http://schworak.com/programming/music/playlist_m3u.asp and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M3u

    Use that information to write your own code to read and parse m3u files to see which tracks to play and in which order.

    I'm not getting the problem, thus can you explain in details on what you have done, and what it is that fails to work ?

    You should add a feature to find all the m3u files, present a list of them to the user, open the m3u file, read the m3u file contents, parse the m3u file contents to form an internal memory representation of the playlist, and then go through the list one by one, playing each song.

    For the first few steps (finding, opening and reading files), you use JSR-75 FileConnection API. See the wiki for examples: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph.../Data_Articles

    ok then, does this happen in device or in emulator ? What APIs and how are you using ? Can you debug and find out the code part that gets executed just before you get the panic ?

    Oops. Sorry. My bad. I was somehow in the Java forums in my mind. Same features still apply. Here are the Symbian C++ file/data articles in the wiki:

    if(iListBox->IsFocused())
    {
    CIPlayAsysAppUi* appUi = (CIPlayAsysAppUi*) CEikonEnv::Static()->AppUi();
    appUi->iPlayEngine->Play();
    }

    ret = EKeyWasConsumed;
    when I give the ok command all the other songs play in emulator but in case of .m3u files it crashes wid panic AudiPlayEngine 0.
    EXPORT_C void CAudioPlayEngine::Play()
    {
    __ASSERT_ALWAYS((iState == EOpen) || (iState == EPaused), Panic(EAudioPlayerEngineWrongState));

    iPlayer->SetPriority(-1, EMdaPriorityPreferenceNone);

    iPlayer->Play();
    TInt err = iPlayer->RegisterAudioResourceNotification(*this, KMMFEventCategoryAudioResourceAvailable);
    if (err != KErrAlreadyExists)
    {

    }

    iState = EPlaying;
    iObserver.MapeoStateChanged();
    }
    This is my code for play..

    void Panic(TAudioPlayerEnginePanic aReason)
    {
    User::Panic(KAudioPlayerEnginePanicCategory, aReason);
    }
    This is the code for panic...

    Re: How to play the M3U files in my player???

    Don't give the m3u file to the player, but open and read the m3u file, find the actual songs from within the m3u, and play the songs one by one, in the order the m3u file says.

    Re: How to play the M3U files in my player???

    Indeed, mentioning the Music Player application in http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ion-in-symbian was intentional. The Music Player can deal with playlists, but there is no such API which would play it directly. It has to be parsed in a similar way as it was constructed. Since reading simple text files is not that trivial in Symbian, you may find the code in #12 of http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...mple-text-file useful.
