Problem installing Qt SDK 1.1.2 on Ubuntu 32-bit

    Hi,

I hope someone can help, I am attempting to install Qt SDK 1.1.2 on a Ubuntu 32-bit VirtualBox guest as a development environment.

I have downloaded the online SDK, Qt_SDK_Lin32_online_v1_1_2_en.run, I then proceed to run it using the following commands:

    Code:
    sudo -i
    Code:
    chmod u+x Qt_SDK_Lin32_online_v1_1_2_en.run
    Code:
    sh ./Qt_SDK_Lin32_online_v1_1_2_en.run
Running the last command results in:

    ./Qt_SDK_Lin32_online_v1_1_2_en.run: 1: Syntax error: "(" unexpected

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Why do obtain root privileges with sudo? You are supposed to install SDK in your home directory with your user privileges.
    You should do simply
    ./Qt_SDK_Lin32_online_v1_1_2_en.run
as you cannot execute binary files as shell scripts
