    video streaming with Video element

    Hi all,
I try to develop online video player by use Video element in Qml. Local files are play very well, but when I start to play remote video files via Wi-Fi, playing is no good. (speed of connection are high) Remote videofiles are play, but with periodical pauses, and through a few seconds(2-3, sometimes more) playing continues. If paused video, it isn't buffered.
Is there any buffer of this Video element?? What size it, and how set it??
    Help me, who can please

Re: video streaming with Video element

    hello freeUser,

Sometime back i tried to use Video Element to stream video in symbian^3 devices but i was facing the same issues too. Then at last i used the native player only to stream the video.

I guess the Video Element is still in very early stages.

    Regards,

why does it should matter, you can also integrate your c++ code in your QML application with ease. So there should not be any problem in using some c++ code in your existing QML code base.

I have already used C++ code in my app, it is hybrid) Can I create a player based on QMediaPlayer, declarate it a new Qml element(by this manual) and use player like my own Qml Element?

yes you can definitely do that, but if you just want to stream your video without any other specific use case then why don't you just launch the inbuilt media player with the streaming url.

I must make app independent. Despite playing video feature, app should comprise other functions, for example searching video on servers, getting information via json, sorting, etc.

ok but you can keep those features in the application independent, you just need to play the video file in the inbuilt video player. Just gave that option a try and if you like the user experience then try that you can save lots of your time.
