Publishing to ovi a simple app using web browser of mobile

    Hi,
I have a simple app that I want to publish to ovi store. The app upon launch open a website in mobile web browser. That is the functionality of app. It do nothing more. I want to know if publishing this app require me to buy signing certificate from verisign, thawte or it can be signed for free.

    Thanks ,

no, you can use free Ovi signing. But to say it straight: I would think over your apps's concept.

Thanks for replying. Actually the client who wants this app want to promote his website and events. That will be really good if this app really can be signed using free ovi signing. You have to send it to nokia ovistore for this process?
Can someone please give me a link that explains the complete process. By the way app is develop in Java ME.

    Thanks,
    Anuj

I think that by default there will be confirmation asked from the user anyway to open the browser when the user starts your application (even if it is signed). So it will not completely seamless experience...
(I have not tested this lately on newer devices so I may be wrong :-)

    Hi Anuj,

Indeed, a free application signing service is now integrated with the Ovi publishing service. Please review to this link for further guidance on how to sign your Java application: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Distr...xhtml#article0.
