Angry Icon, description and screenshot updated, but SIS is old

    Hi guys

we are having an urgent situation that is a little bit bizzare as well. We updated Toshl app (1.6 version) for Symbian 3 phones, but after a few days in QA, only screenshots, icon and descriptions were updated, while the accessible sis file is still old (1.5 version) - while in publish dashboard we see the new sis file, but QA is still saying it is progress (with details showing it is 100 % passed).

    Toshl links:
    - Fixed web browser: http://store.ovi.com/content/61300
    - Nokia mobile browser: http://store.ovi.mobi/content/61300

It seems someone at QA finished only half of the job. Or did we screw something up? Please help, this is a really urgent matter.

In this case, its better to write a immediate mail to publisher support team, so that they can look into this.

This is a known issue. It is much faster to check the content meta data (icon, decription, etc.) and it gets passed the QA faster. The actual content file will be updated with few days delay. One way to avoid having wrong description (ie. updated description but old file) is to send update the content file first, wait until it gets passed and then update the content meta data, which takes only 24 or so to pass the QA.

I don't know if the date that can be set in the content meta data would help to avoid this issue all together.

Is this for real? If yes, then we have to admit, this is beyond fail.

    Hi 3fs,

I had done a quick check on your content item and it appears that both the metadata as well as the content file are the most updated ones.

The uploading and QA process has been separated into two stages: the metadata of your content item and subsequently the content file. This is to increase QA efficiency should a publisher decide to update either their metadata or binary files. This however poses a problem of one aspect of the item being published before the other as your example indicates.

For your future reference, if you do plan to update both the binary files and metadata, please kindly drop an email to the Nokia Support team and instruct them to publish both the metadata and the files simultaneously so that such issues do not arise. I understand that this is somewhat cumbersome; rest assured we are still looking into ways of improving the processes to make the Ovi experience as seamless as possible.

    Andrew
