From where to get Coverity tool

I would like to use Coverity tool but don't know from where to get it. From Coverity's official web site I came to know that there is a complete process for a free trial either on-site or remotely. But what if I want to use it as an individual developer and not as a company's representative?

Is there any one to use it like Carbide/ Symbian SDKs are available to us?

It is a code analysis tool that can be useful in making sure that we have written some good code like it can detect logical errors/ Symbian's idioms are used or not etc. It can also help in detecting possibilities of memory leaks, that too while static binding. I don't know much about it but just came to know this via the following links. Also, just came to know that big organizations makes it mandatory to have the knowledge of this tool (especially if you are working in Symbian C++).

Coverity only work with OpenSource packages for free. See scan.coverity.com for more info on that. For everything else, it is probably a commercial deal and individuals are going to find that tricky.

Sounds like the best idea is to direct your request/needs at Nokia and get them to talk to Coverity.

I would not see too much possibilities that Symbian SDK's or Carbide would get any additional new tools support at this point of time, thus I would not be too hopeful on contacting Nokia with that kind of idea.

Hello. I would invite all who are interested in static code analysis, try our tool PVS-Studio.
PVS-Studio is a static analyzer that detects errors in source code of C/C++/C++11 applications (Visual Studio 2005/2008/2010).
Examples of use PVS-Studio: 90 errors in Open Source projects.

Re: From where to get Coverity tool

Hi, while Jukka removed the links, the real problem is not that your tools are paid ones (there is some free trial for them as I see), but the fact that they are totally off-topic here: Visual Studio can not be used for Symbian C++ development, and general purpose code analyser tools can not handle Symbian C++ code, because of its highly exotic memory-, resource- and error-handling language elements, their actual syntax and conventions for usage.
