This article How_to_create_dynamic_QML_component_by_XML explains how to construct a dynamic UI by parsing XML from a server into QML files.
I asked the author why you would need to do that - why not just specify the QML directly as a network based import. They returned with "well, if we download the qml as xml then handle it locally then we can use "local" images and don't need to download them"
I was wondering if this is really valid, or if there is an alternative:
- can you specify an url that will be used locally from network based QML when it is downloaded?
- can you cache images locally so they don't need to be re-downloaded
- can you just download QML from a URL and then execute it locally?
This is for my interest only.
