    Qt SVG support?

    Hi,

Is there any source that would list what SVG features latest Qt supports?
Is it all the latest SVG Tiny features, or some subset?

My problem is that when I draw with Inkscape or similar and then convert to Qt,
it seems that all I get is monochromatic blobs; all gradients and other fancy
stuff is dropped off. So is that all there is?

At least many icons seem to have gradients.

Do you mean the application icon or are you trying to draw graphics on the application it self?

If possible, I would recommend to use PNG or other bitmap datatype instead of vector when drawing graphics inside the application.

There is Qt example in http://doc.qt.nokia.com/stable/painting-svgviewer.html and it uses SVQ Tiny 1.2 assets for drawing them in application.

For Symbian icons I've had best luck exporting from Illustrator to SVG 1.0. Unlike usually communicated, SVG Tiny format doesn't seem to work.
I haven't been able to export successfully from Inkscape to Symbian icon compliant SVG formats.

    Re: Qt SVG support?

I am not a fan of bitmap graphics as the hog space and scale poorly. My intent was to draw
SVG graphics on the application itself, but as the results were less than satisfactory, I asked
    for advice here.

I need to study the pointer you provided, but meanwhile, does SVG 1.0 support e.g. gradients
or similar features so that "fake 3D" buttons and other objects could be drawn on screen? It would
be a lot of easier than full-blown OpenGL

    Yes, SVG 1.0 supports gradients.

Also they are used in the aforementioned example.

You can also generate SVG drawings by using QPainter functions to draw on a specialized SVG paint device.
