It seems that the open/community-driven databases are not so well updated.

You can try also the database below and see if you get a more accurate location (You need to get the lac as well):

    http://cellid.novay.nl/cellid/Request.aspx

In the above database, there is a limit of requests/day though.

If your mobile phone is Symbian based, Skyhook seems to provide a professional Cell ID to Location translation (but not with Mobile Java):

Hey you normally acquire the lac system property by the following code:

    System.getProperty("com.nokia.mid.lac")

But unfortunately according to Java Developer's Library

    http://library.developer.nokia.com/i...B925CF670.html

this particular system property can be retrieved only on S40/2G phones, so you cannot really use the code for E5.
Also for devices running the S40 5th edition FP 1 up to 6th edition FP1, the application needs to be signed in the operator/manufacturer domain.
Which means, that in order for you to get the LAC property you will need a 2G/S40 device with the Java Runtime Environment 1.0.0 where no signing is needed.
Currently these are the only S40/2G devices announced with the Java Runtime Environment 1.0.0
    C2-02
    C2-03
    C2-06

You could use the Nokia Maps API for Java ME if you would like to create custom applications based on Nokia Maps:

    https://projects.developer.nokia.com/LBSPJME/wiki

Also a good place to get started with Java, that includes some code examples is this:

    http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devel...tting_started/

You can actually find all the devices that support the Java Runtime Environment 1.0.0 from the following link:

    http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devic...pecifications/

click on "Expert Device Search" > scroll down to the APIs section and then select
Java Runtime must be equal to Java Runtime 1.0.0 for S40
    and click on "Go".

Currently, the only devices that support it, are the ones I mentioned in my previous post.
