Lightbulb How to detect E6-00 like devices

    Hi All

My app needs to look a little different on E6-00 because of a special resolution and hardware keyboard presence (I don't need to show on screen one).

I know how to check the available screen resolution, but what would be the proper way for detecting the hardware keyboard presence (or maybe that virtual keyboard is not present)?

    Cheers,
    Artem.

Nope, I don't think that's what he needs, not at all.

What he needs is more like FeatureManager::IsFeatureSupportedL(KFeatureIdQwertyInput) or Hal's EKeyboard although I'm not sure if either of them is reliable.

Re: How to detect E6-00 like devices

    Thanks for the link!

By now I solved the problem via QtMobility and its QSystemDeviceInfo. It's a pity 4.7.3 doesn't allow for existence of virtual keyboard, but it can tell about the presence of physical keyboard. Together with the screen size it provides reliable enough detection. At least while there is only one "non-standard" Symbian 3 model
