Question How to make a torch with strobe using camera flash? (Harmattan)

    Hello.

I'm writing a small application for Meego Harmattan using Qt. And I have a couple of questions (yes, I've checked all related topics and still didn't find the solution):

    1. How to use phone camera LED as a torch (Meego API+Qt or Qt Mobility)?

    2. How to use phone camera LED/flash for strobe effect (Meego API+Qt or Qt Mobility)? Flash should blink when user tap on screen, for example.

I read that there is a V4L2 based solution but I still can't find it.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

I guess it will be great to have a wiki article about torch usage. I'll do it as soon as I'll find the suitable solution.

Qt Mobility camera backend is based on GStreamer and FlashTorch mode is not available I guess. But there are some Torch apps on the market that work! Could anyone advise on that? There is no solution even on meego.com
