Reason "An internal application error occured. java.lang.NullPointerExeceptoin:0."?

    Hi All,

I have an j2me application, in which we download the data from server every month and stores it into Rms files.
But , sometimes it gives " An internal application error occured. java.lang.NullPointerExeceptoin:0." message and stops working completely and hence we need to re download the application loosing all the data.

I tried to re download the data but it does not work and even I tried to re download the previous data but it was not succeeded too.

I don't delete the RMS File when I download the data from server but only replaces the old data with the new one.

Can anyone suggests the solution for this problem.

    Thanks,

    Suraj

    Hello Suraj,

does this issue happen with Nokia devices? Or with some other devices or all devices? Could you specify model names?

Thank you Suraj for the definition on the device.

Can you provide more information on which methods of RMS do you use for replacing the data?

    Hi r2j7 ,

I use "rs.deleteRecord(temp);" method to delete each record.

    thanks,

My guess is that your code has a bug. At some point and in certain situation you are trying to use something which has a null value and therefore the Exception is thrown. Please debug your code more.

    hi,

Is it because of rms corruption?

    thanks,

Hard to guess. Sorry to say this again, but you need to debug more and find out when exactly this is happening.
Which device are you experiencing this on? Which SDK are you using?
