    Question Nokia signing questions

    Hello.
I'm using these capabilities in my symbian app that i'm about to release:
    NetworkServices
    ReadUserData
    WriteUserData
    ReadDeviceData
    WriteDeviceData

This FAQ says that i then should be able to get this app Express signed. True?

If so, i only have one task left, and that is to hand over an unsigned file to ovi.
The only option i have in Qt creator, is to choose "Projects"->"Build settings" and choose the config "Release" and then choose either "Self-signed certificate" or "Custom certificate".

Should i just choose "Self-signed certificate"?
I would have thought that i needed another option that says "No signing"?

    Hope you can help me.

    Thanks in advance

There is an option no signed in QtCreator that you can select.
But you can manually sign that unsigned file before delivering it to Ovi team (just to make sure that it works)

Hmm, can't seem to find it. I'm using Qt creator 2.0.1

Here's a screenshot of Qt creator build options

    Re: Nokia signing questions

I can see it in QtSdk 1.1.3 (where Qt creator 2.3.0 is available), I am not sure where it was in old version (was it att all in old version).
If you don't really find ofcourse you can call always makesis from command line for Symbian SDK to create sis file.

    Re: Nokia signing questions

What if i remove the step "Create SIS package".
I tried to rebuild with that step removed. The *projectname"_installer.sis was built, but i'm unsure if this is a correct way to do it. What do you think?
If you take a look at the image from my last post, it looks like the only thing "Create SIS package" do, is to sign the package (either self-signed or with chosen certificate).

    Re: Nokia signing questions

Self sign certificate will not work,,because you are using Network services, read user data and writeuser data,

You have to contact OVI publisher team ,and get the ovi publish certificate for your application.

    Re: Nokia signing questions

The question is not related to unsigned sis file. In old QtCreator there was no options " No signed".
I think your option could be any of the following:
-Upgrade to latest QtSDK (1.1.3 ) and get the unsigned options
-Or manually make a sis file
-Get a certificate/key pairs from Ovi and signed it and give it them if they can help you (or write a mail to them how they can help you)
-You can send me the signed sis file, I can try to give an unsigned version (drop a private mail)
