    Post set permissions for applicatiion

    Hello all,
I am developing mobile application which accesses memory card and while accessing it asks permission to do so.
But I want it to access memory card without asking permission. My application is not signed so whether signing my application will do it for me??

Even after signing the app, you will need to educate your end user to go to applications permissions settings and give the required permissions to app and setting to ASK only ONCE, then only it will help.

    Re: set permissions for applicatiion

    Hello rbangar30,

this depends partly on the platform as well as on how new the devices of the platform are.

Regarding Nokia devices, the latest Symbian devices since S60 3rd Edition, FP2 and Series 40 devices since Series 40 6th Edition, FP1 (=Touch and Type devices) provide enhancement which allows end-user to select the preferred security domain during application runtime. More about this topic is described on Java Developer's Library online here (under the 'Authorization' headline):

Java Developer's Library 3.10 > Developer's guides > Security > MIDP security > MIDP application security in Nokia devices > Installation time security
