    Carbide.ui 4.3 - Updates available

If you already have Carbide.ui v4.0 or v4.1 or v4.2 (Symbian) installed, please ensure internet connectivity, and restart the program. After restarting, Carbide.ui will check for updates, and this pop-up should appear.

Click on the popup to begin the update. Update process may be slow depending on your internet performance. So let's take all updates first then use the tool.

Here is the full change log:
    1. All new Symbian Belle plug-in is available as default plug-in.
    2. Symbian Belle WYSIWYG preview screens are supported with new Belle specific graphics.
    3. Network connection failed message is handled.
If you have any trouble in downloading, or using the new update, please feel free to write to us at Support.UITools@nokia.com.

    Thanks,
    Carbide.ui team

    Re: Carbide.ui 4.3 - Updates available

    OOPS!
Wrong thread, I'm interested in Symbian Belle plugin 1.6.

    Moved:
My Carbide 4.3 say there is an update for Symbian Belle Plugin. It's connetted to internet.
When I click tu "update", Update failed, no internet connection available. Obviously internet is available, update to 4.3 was made wit same setting (default).
Same error message trying to download other plugins.
    What's happening?

    Re: Carbide.ui 4.3 - Updates available

Has anyone been having problems updating to the latest Belle 1.6 plug-in? I have re-installed Carbide.UI and running as administrator. When starting up it does a quick check, doesn't look like it finds any updates and continues to load. I am still at Belle 1.5. During startup of the IDE, there is a brief 2-3 second gap where I can access the software update settings... these become unavailable once all the carbide components have finished loading. I can access http://symbianplugins.developer.noki...ugins/plugins/ and can see the .jar file for the Belle 1.6 file, is there a way I can manually install?

I did a clean install on another machine (running XP), still no automatic update to the Belle 1.6 plug-in. Could there be something wrong on the Nokia update side? I don't have any problems downloading updates for my other Eclipse environments, so doubt that it could be the network. I also switched off all firewalls etc. Manual install instructions, or is there something else I can check?

    Thanks

    Stefan

    Re: Carbide.ui 4.3 - Updates available

OK, so finally got it working, these are the steps I took:

    1) During first 1-3 seconds of Carbide.UI window displaying, go to : Window > Preferences > General > Startup and Shutdown and uncheck "Product Support" and "Startuptip Plug-in". This will stop your advanced preferences and functions such as Help > Check for Updates and Help > Install New Software from disappearing from the menus once Carbide.UI has fully loaded. If you don't see the "General" section under your preferences then you were too late clicking Window > Preferences, restart and try again!
    2) Now that you can see your preferences properly, go to Preferences > Install/Update > Available Software Sites.
    3) Select each repository and press "Reload" to refresh all the latest caches (I suspect my repositories somehow got out of sync)
    4) Now go to Help > Install New Software
    5) Choose to work with the "${p2.metadata.repo.name}"
    6) Unlick "Group items by category" otherwise you will see no items
    7) Select the Symbian Belle plugin and click Next
    8) It will install some dependencies and then warn you that there are some unsigned items, click to continue, Carbide will prompt you to restart, after that you should have the plug-in in your drop-down!

Others have suggested running eclipse.exe -clean - I didn't try that, maybe that would help also.
