    Installing JAD over Bluetooth.

Is it possible to install a jad/jar file using bluetooth?
I've only been able to put the jar file on the phone. The jad shows up as a "broken application".

I'm developing an security related api for j2me, and I've gotten to the stage where I need to test it on the actual device since it runs nicely on the emulator. The problem however is that since I haven't been able to install the jad/jar file from bluetooth it cost money to put the application on the phone. (around $2 for 5 "installs").
The reason I need the JAD is because API specific settings are stored in it.

I get the values using midlet.getAppProperty("..") and they are not in the manifest of the JAR.

If I install using a uploaded version of the JAD file it all works.

So, any way to get this to work?

Not with Bluetooth, methinks. I.e., you need to use the browser to connect to a web server with the jad (URL that points ot the jad file), and then transparently have the jar downloaded, too.

If you keep having problems with installing the JAD, couldn't you include the API settings in the manifest file as well for the duration of testing phase. When everything starts working properly, then you make the final build with settings only in the JAD file, test that once, and off you go...

Then, you have a bug in your JAD because JAD/JAR work nicely with Nokia Mobile Phones even via Bluetooth. Which phone are you using? By incident, have you signed the JAD somehow?
