Can anyone suggest me an open source mobile database ?

Which is the best mobile database ?

I was trying to install HSQLDB database from "hsqldb.jar" which I download from http://hsqldb.org/web/hsqlFAQ.html#INSTALL

but I am not able to install the .jar file.

Anyone please suggest me an open source mobile database.

You do realize, that for J2ME, all local database libraries have to rely on either just RMS storage (with its limitations) or JSR-75 FileConnection API calls to files in the device's public directories/folders?

    Here's a list: http://www.coderanch.com/t/230853/JM...st-Database-ME

No, HSQLDB requires desktop Java (JDK & JRE), E71 only has Java Mobile Edition, which is very different and much more limited than desktop Java.

Actually I need mobile database to save latitude and longitude values every 10 seconds in the mobile database when the network access is not available due to network coverage. Then sync all data to the remote database when network access is available. This the main reason I need database on my E71 mobile phone.

Use RMS or JSR-75, or if you want a "database" layer on top, see the alternatives in my first reply to your original post.

The wiki has RMS and JSR-75 examples: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu.../Data_Articles
