    Redirecting widget to Phone Settings

    Hello everybody,
In Symbian Anna when a function of my widget does not work because needed information is inaccessible (such as gps positioning is not allowed to any applications) I want to redirect the user to the Settings page of the Phone.

To make things a little bit clearer: when the widget is unable to find user's location, it should unload the widget and redirect the user to the settings page (Menu > Settings > Application Settings > Positioning > Positioning Methods) where the user may or may not enable some positioning methods.

    Thanks for any advice,
    Onur

    Hi,

You can open settings application by using UID.

    Code:
     <div onclick="widget.openApplication(0x100058EC);">Open settings</div>

That's working fine, thank you. but is it possible to open specific item of settings. I suppose those items don't have UIDs

You're welcome I'm afraid that WRT APIs are not flexible enough to launch specific item. This use case might be doable with native Symbian, but would still require a lot of hacking.
