How to get the application used time on the symbian 3 device

    Hi,

I want to get all the installed application's "using time", thus I can calcualte the frequency of each application used by the user.

    Any ideas?

Depending on your exact needs you may find NEP useful, https://www.developer.nokia.com/Reso...ergy_Profiler/

I doubt such API would exist. I doubt that such information is even gathered. You would have to implement it your self, somehow tracking when applications are running.

I would simply make an background app that monitors how long each application is having focus.. That would basically show more-or-less the time user is using them. Then of course you would need to take account inactivity timer, and seeing which application is key lock etc.

Can I monitor the application start event, and application close event. Thus I can calculate the time myself?
Which API to get the application is currently having focus, also need to get the application name?

Basically when user launches the app, it takes focus, thus you could use that as start event, you could use the focus event of another app as a close event, or actually monitor the process exit code.

For examples of codes and APIs, please do learn how to search our wiki. You have been here long enough to know how to search.
