    Hi mohiuddin.zubair and welcome to Nokia's Discussion Boards,

    Are you using LCDUI or an external library (such as LWUIT)? What component are you trying to display your characters in (TextField, StringItem, drawing on Canvas)? Is it always the first two characters of the string you are trying to display, that are not properly shown, no matter the characters, or is it always two specific characters the issue here?

    What sequence of keys on a keyboard with US layout could generate the characters you have trouble seeing (for example kj generates نت)?

    Re: J2ME Form - first one or two characters clipped

    hi skalogir,
    i am using LCDUI, and i am trying to display the arabic character into a form
    example-
    String s = "ادخل الاسم";
    form.append(s);

    form.append("اسمي");

    Its not always the first two characters that are clipped
    when i am appending string s , اد characters are clipped
    and for the next one first character and a little bit of second character.

    i am testing it on e71 and it supports arabic language, has arabic keyboard.
    and the clipping is happening only with arabic.

    please help me out if you have any ideas.

    thanks
    zubair.

    Re: J2ME Form - first one or two characters clipped

    Hi mohiuddin.zubair,

    Thanks for reporting this. I have verified the problem on E71's latest software release 510.21.009. This is a bug.
    From what I see however, there are no planned software releases, that could provide a fix for this problem.
    To some extend you could display correctly your text if you added it in a non modifiable TextField as follows:
    Code:
    String s="اسمي";
    String s2="ادخل الاسم";
    TextField text=new TextField("",s,20,TextField.UNEDITABLE);
    TextField text2=new TextField("",s2,20,TextField.UNEDITABLE);
    and then append text and text2 to your form.
