Preparing Qt Content for Nokia Signing using Qt Creator

Check that your application is ready to be published by running the Publish Qt Symbian Applications to Nokia Store wizard. This wizard checks that the application UID, vendor name, and capabilities used meet the Nokia Publishing criteria.

In Qt Creator:

1. Choose Build > Publish Project.
2. Select “Publish Qt Symbian Applications to Nokia Store” in the Available Wizards drop-down list, and then click “Start Wizard”.

3. Select the Qt version and device type to build against and click “Next”.
4. In the Global vendor name and Localised vendor name field, enter your company name (e.g. Your Company Name).
5. In the Application UID field, enter the Nokia assigned UID (e.g. 0x2002abcd).

6. Select “Commit” to save changes and create the .sis file. The .sis file is packaged with Nokia Smart Installer for Symbian.
7. Once the .sis file is created, select “Yes to all” in the File Changed message prompt. The following code should be added automatically to your project .pro file:
TARGET.UID3 = 0x2002abcd
vendorinfo = “%{\”Your Company Name\”}” “:\”Your Company Name\”"
8. Click “Open Containing Folder” to open the folder where the MyApp_installer_unsigned.sis file was created.In Nokia Publish:
9. In the content file, enter the UID in the AppUID metadata field Update the Symbian Signed Type field to “Requesting Nokia Signing”.
10. Fill in the necessary metadata and file distribution information and upload the created unsigned .sis file.
11. Click Submit to QA.

Note: After you change the application UID, you must use the developer certificate-key pair that you receive from Nokia Publish Support for testing the application on devices. The following error message is displayed on the device if you use UIDs from the trusted range (0x2xxxxxxx) in an un-signed application: Unable to install a trusted application from a trusted supplier.
