Will Nokia support 100% MIDP 2.0???

    Hi!

I read today the "Mobile Information Device Profile for Java™ 2 Micro Edition Version 2.0" (MIDP 2.0)

    and I read:

    Specification Requirements
This section lists some explicit requirements of this specification. Other requirements can be found in the
associated Javadoc. If any requirements listed here differ from requirements listed elsewhere in the
specification, the requirements here take precedence and replace the conflicting requirements.
    Compliant MIDP 2.0 implementations:
    • MUST support MIDP 1.0 and MIDP 2.0 MIDlets and MIDlet Suites.
    • MUST include all packages, classes, and interfaces described in this specification.
    • MUST implement the OTA User Initiated Provisioning specification.
    • MAY incorporate zero or more supported protocols for push.
    • MUST give the user a visual indication of network usage generated when using the mechanisms indicated
    in this specification.
    • MAY provide support for accessing any available serial ports on their devices through the
    CommConnection interface.

will Nokia support 100% this part:

    • SHOULD provide support for datagram connections.
    • SHOULD provide support for server socket stream connections.
    • SHOULD provide support for socket stream connections.
    • SHOULD provide support for secure socket stream connections.

    ????

or must we still used HTTP protocol??

    Socket Support

    Hi all,
could any one tell me that Nokia 3650 has support for Datagram (UDP) or Socket(TCP) support, as they claim that 3650 is MIDP 2.0 complaint.

The 3650 is not MIDP 2.0 compliant.
Instead, the 6600 is MIDP 2.0 compliant.

The 6600 is MIDP-2.0 compliant, but it will be commercially available only Q4 which means at the end of the year.

I want to develop an application for the Nokia 7650 that use UDP.

Is MIDP 2.0 supportted in Nokia 7650?

Can I use UDP or should I use HTTP?

    thanks in advance
