    N9-like Header filter icon

    Hi,

    I'd like to know if there's a platformIconId (or similar) for the Header filter glyph used in some of the Nokia N9 default apps (ex. Messages)?

    It doesn't seem to be listed in http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu..._Various_icons

    Thanks, appreciate the help!

    Never mind, I found the solution.
    I created a sample project on github for others to see how it can be done: https://github.com/maxart/MeeGo-Header

    Hi,
    I tested your code and it works quite fine.
    Thanks for sharing.

    BTW I slightly cleaned it, here is my "version"

    Button {
    id: comboboxButton
    width: parent.width

    text: comboboxDialog.model.get(0).name
    onClicked: comboboxDialog.open();

    ToolIcon {
    id: filterImage
    anchors.right: parent.right
    anchors.verticalCenter: parent.verticalCenter
    platformIconId: "textinput-combobox-arrow"
    }

    SelectionDialog {
    id: comboboxDialog
    titleText: "Select"

    model: ListModel {
    ListElement { name: "Item 1" }
    ListElement { name: "Item 2" }
    ListElement { name: "Item 3" }
    ListElement { name: "Item 4" }
    ListElement { name: "Item 5" }
    }
    onAccepted: { comboboxButton.text = comboboxDialog.model.get(comboboxDialog.selectedIndex).name }
    }

    }
    This code is usefull since there is not ComboBox item for harmattan nor the symbian SelectionListItem ( http://doc.qt.nokia.com/qt-component...ectionlistitem)

    Re: N9-like Header filter icon

    I am missing something here or QML really doesn't have native component for "Header Bar"?
    At least i haven't found one.

    Do developers really have to create custom component for this?
    This would lead into inconsistent application designs (some apps have larger header bars than others etc.).

    It's strange because it's Header bar is presented in many n9 related materials.

    For example:
    http://harmattan-dev.nokia.com/docs/...0header&sp=all
    http://harmattan-dev.nokia.com/docs/...w_Headers.html

    Well, there are no pre-made native components for the header bar as you can see from the list of available components here: http://harmattan-dev.nokia.com/docs/...onentlist.html
    The header basically can host an Icon (optional) + Label + Button (Text or Icon).

    Re: N9-like Header filter icon

    Thanks for answering.

    I concluded also that QML doesn't have native component for header.
    I know that it's really simple to create one yourself but i think that
    it's still bad decision from QT team not to include it.

    It just makes apps more inconsistent.
    Every app has slightly different header with different height, font, animations and functionality.

    Hope they will include it in the future releases.

    I completely agree with you, MeeGo team rushed a little bit to make the device available as soon as possible.
    Pre-Made headers are not the only missing components btw.

    @gnuton thanks for checking my code out, and for offering your cleaned up version!
    I too find it sad it's not a default/native component. Thankfully, it's pretty easy to replicate what the Nokia apps have.

    Re: N9-like Header filter icon

    Okay so I was a little annoyed that there wasn't a full list of the icons we can use for the N9 - however we DO have the source code for the QML examples that you can install on the devices (all the dev tools etc.).

    The source for this is here: http://qt.gitorious.org/qt-component...aster/examples

    Anything you see in the demos and you want to use just copy it from there.

    However the question still remains how do we get ALL the icons? Well they are ALL stored in the folder:

    QtSDK/Simulator/Qt/gcc/harmattanthemes/blanco/meegotouch/icons/

    And you look them up like this:

    source: "image://theme/icon-m-input-clear"
    or
    iconSource: "image://theme/icon-m-input-clear"

    for tool icons.
    EDIT:

    the icon you are looking for is this one:

    icon-m-common-combobox-arrow
