Question Application not available for Belle

We have successfully submitted Qt app using Qt 4.7.3. It has passed QA and is available on Nokia Store, but only for Symbian^3/Anna devices. For Belle it is not available, even if it works with Belle. Device distribution is set correctly to include all Symbian^3 and later devices. What could be the issue here? Anyone else seeing the same for their apps?

We have also submitted question to Nokia QA directly, but don't expect them to answer anytime soon.

I have excactly the same problem. The content ID is 185460 (TaksiMobi). And it used to be available for Belle devices earlier, but now it has dissappeared from the store without any notice.
A quick feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks Andrew, content ID is 223620. As said before we have asked this already via publisher website but haven't received any answer yet.

@OneDeveloper: It seems that the latest submission(with the updated distribution) had not been published. Can you please re-submit the file component and I'll get this quick passed for you? It should show up for Belle devices then.

@teromakela: It appears that the updated Belle devices were never processed. Can you please re-submit the file as well and I'll get this quick passed?

I've thrown this on the priority list to get it expedited through the QA review. This should surface on the store within the next few days.

Andrew, thanks to you our content file has already passed QA. But it is still not visible for Belle. Any ideas why? Content ID is 223620.

Re: Application not available for Belle

This seems to be a common problem. Our app is also affected.
    http://store.ovi.com/content/223982

The app is available for Symbian^3 and Anna devices and also for Belle-only devices (700 &701).
But it is not available for devices like N8 and C7 that have been upgraded from Anna to Belle.

Do we have to do something special to support those?

If you have correctly selected the devices for distribution, I guess there is nothing else to do. Just cross your fingers and pray Nokia will eventually fix the store. It is really sad publishers are losing money due to Nokia incompetence.

Yesterday we found out that if a publisher is using in-app purchase content availability is seriously limited. This information was shared by Ben from Nokia during Facebook chat session, see http://www.facebook.com/groups/12668...1350788840052/
You can publish content for Symbian^3 and Anna devices, but in case of Belle it is only available for 700 and 701 models. Based on our February download figures for another free product, 700 and 701 models only account for 2.1% of total downloads. As almost all Symbian devices now ship with Belle or are upgrade-able to Belle, using IAP cuts our target market size by 98%!

And there is not even estimate when IAP will be more widely available. What's worse, Nokia doesn't share this information anywhere in documentation but claims that "Symbian^3 and newer devices" support in-app purchase, see:
    http://support.publish.nokia.com/?cat=6&topic=57

For us this means creating two new content items, one free and one paid. Old content item with useless IAP will be removed and we have to answer to Nokia 700 and 701 customers why they need to purchase the item again. My advice to Symbian publishers is not to use IAP if you want to make any money!

@ondeveloper: Thank you so much for sharing this information. This is really valuable!

@Nokia: Are you serious??? We've spend about 2 month adding in-app-purchase to our application and now people cannot download it?
    • When will this issue be resolved?
    • Why don't you communicate that?
    • Why is there no Publisher Alert?
    • Why do you write untrue things in your documentation (Quote: "Qt IAP or Native Symbian IAP for Symbian^3 and newer devices")
    • Do you think it's a good idea to screw your last remaining Symbian developers?

    Seriously, I don't get it!

Re: Application not available for Belle

    Hi Cornelius & all,

We do not have yet a solution for the problems found with Nokia Belle's IAP support, but you are right, there should have been some communication about this to the publishers.
Nobody likes it but we all know that bugs happen and some times they are found very late. The documentation is right, or rather it was totally right at the moment it was published, it cannot be updated any time something contradicts it temporarely.

    Best regards,
    Lucian
