Unable to connect QtCreator to N950

I used to be able to connect QtCreator to my N950.

Then i had by N950 replaced due to faulty display, and now it does not connect anymore.

I have updated the firware to the latest, i have enabled developer mode, i have SDK connectivity tool open and running.

On Windows 7, i can see the "Nokia ethernet/RNDIS based device" with a yellow mark and the error "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". I tryed to uninstall/reinstall the driver, i tryed to uninstall and reinstall the entire Harmattan toolchain, nothing works.

Due to this, i cannot see the network device and i cannot connect my QtCreator to my N950.

Please, i am really stuck and i need to do some testing soon!

    any help is appreciated.

    Hi,

Hope you are using USB based connection.

Did you select "SDK mode" when connecting the usb cable from the device to PC.

Also let us know what errors you are getting in QT creator's compile output tab when trying to run an application (Say hello world) on harmattan target device.

    Detailed instructions are here

Yes, i am using USB connection.
Yes, i selected SDK mode on the N950...
The error i get when i try to create a new device is connection failed: timeout waiting for reply from server. This is because on my windows 7 box the RNDIS driver failed to install or work properly, as indicated in my first post.

My application does run properly on the emulator, so the instructions you linked me works, but only on the emulator not on the device.

My point is, how do i fix the RNDIS driver?

    hello gardiol,

yes with windows 7 these is this driver issue actually it should get installed form the first time you connect your N950. I also faced this issue and ended up using WIFI.

One more thing you can try is to check if there are updated available to your Qt SDK, the latest one or the one before that had some patches fo that.

    Hi,

Please see this link, they discuss the same problem. They have some possible solutions too other than updating the sdk like making it work from device manager, but may be not for windows7 64 bit

Recommend to use QT SDK 1.2 anyways as it has better support for harmattan.

Here are some more links that have solutions for the same issue.

I think is the usb driver issue.
May be you should install it manually.
I have a “Madda_usbdriver” installation package, but i can't upload it width attachments, because the package's size is exceed the limit.
