    Question Help required regarding self-signing..

I have downloaded and installed Carbide C/C++ in order to self-sign an application, but I have no idea on how to do it. Can anyone please explain every single step by which I can self-sign the application (from creating project to self-signing)? Please do keep in mind that I know nothing about the software.
    Help will be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Anish Bora

    Hi,

From your project directory in Carbide, right click and select Properties from the options list.

Select Carbide.C++ from the tree on your left and select Build Configuration.

Press Add button in Sis Builder tab.

Select package file for your application in the dialog that comes up, and select self-signed in signing options and press OK.

By default self-signed is already selected in the above dialog.

I can see a Project Explorer box on the left top corner but is empty because as I haven't created any project yet. How to create a project and what type of project should I create? How will I link my application with this project? How to install the certificate? Sorry for asking so many things together. I really don't have any clue!

Thanks. I'm gettin the following error when I'm typing in the project name:

The Symbian Build System (sbs) cannot be found on the PATH. Carbide needs a valid SBS installation on the PATH to use the SBSv2 builder.

Obvious question is have you installed SBSv2 (aka Raptor) and set PATH to it? Note that Carbide has its own PATH somewhere there to edit, but I'm sure you can find it.

    Re: Help required regarding self-signing..

It is not really clean what you are trying to do. In the thread in General Discussions you ask about developer signing. Here you are asking about self-signing.
However: SBSv2 would be the toolchain to compile and build something what you can sign later. So as far as you have SBS (Symbian Build System) issues, signing is in the distant future.
What are you trying to build, and with which SDK? Do you have an SDK at all? Note that Carbide.c++ is a text editor from this point of view, it can not do anything useful without an actual SDK (Software Development Kit).
