    Question HandleWsEventL & HandlePointerEventL, which structure is correct

    hi all,

    which structure is right when we handle HandlePointerEventL() , HandleWsEventL()

    Code:
    void CCtrl::HandlePointerEventL(const TPointerEvent& aPointerEvent) // 1
    	{
    	     CCoeControl::HandlePointerEventL(aPointerEvent);
    
                // And then I write my code next here
            }
    OR

    Code:
    void CCtrl::HandlePointerEventL(const TPointerEvent& aPointerEvent) // 1
    	{
    	
                  // I write my code FIRST, then 
    
                  CCoeControl::HandlePointerEventL(aPointerEvent);
    
            }
    And is there any difference in result for both?

    And the same question for HandleWsEventL() and CAknAppUi::HandleWsEventL(aEvent,aDestination);

    Basically the difference is that in other case your code is executed before application framework is processing the event, and in other your code is executed afterwards, then depending on whether the pointer-events are causing any effect, this might be big deal, or no-deal, so depending on your application logic you coculd choose to use which ever you like best.

    Anyway, I suppose most often you want your own logic to do something so often it is better to go with the later one.

    I want to be greedy and ask you for a future example - not code, but a logic - that I should / must choose one sequence than the other?

    Basically would not be having any examples available, and as said it is upto your own logic.

    hi @symbianyucca,

    regarding receiving change screen event in HandleWsEventL() :

    I monitor screen change event ( from landscape to portrait and vice verse ) via RWindowGroup::EnableScreenChangeEvents();

    The problem is, when my application in foreground I receive this event very fast, but when my application in background there is a huge delay; So is there a way to solve this problem?


    I know that, because when I have a floating window and change its size and place with help of HandleWsEventL(), it is redrawn in the correct place very fast when my app in F.G, and very slow when my app in B.G.
