    JAVA Series 40 HMACSha256 routine

Hi , I hope someone within this forum has had to do this previously and can assist me.

I can't find a native HMACSha256 routine in the Java libraries for Symbian Series 40 . I am porting an Android application to work on Symbian phones using a dev environment is Elcipse and JavaME library [Nokia
SDK1.1 for Java/Nokia_SDK_1_1_Java] and a Java Compliance level of 1.3.

Does anyone have/know where I can get such a routine from?
    Regards,

    BouncyCastle has a MIDP port.

I'm not sure what your mentioned routine does, but maybe java.security.MessageDigest helps.
Is MessageDigest.getInstance("SHA-256") what you are looking for?

Re: JAVA Series 40 HMACSha256 routine

    Hi

Thanks for the input from all and apologies for the slow response.

MessageDigest.getInstance("SHA-256") isn't what we are looking for as there is a difference between HMACSha256 and SHA-256.

It seems that BouncyCastle the route to go. However, whenever I load the JAR in eclipse, the project accepts the JAR and you can reference the project, however when running the code on an emulator I continously get
    Uncaught exception java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: org/bouncycastle/crypto/Digest.
    Uncaught exception java/lang/IllegalArgumentException.

No Matter what I do I cant get the BouncyCastle added as a "runnable" reference. Please assist if possible.

    Thanks.
