    Exclamation Map Pan not working

    Hi,

As of this morning, May 18, 2012 moving the map is not working in Chrome. I am using version 2.1.1 of the API but your examples are not working either.

    http://api.maps.nokia.com/en/playgro...example_moving

Zoom does the same thing, the map ends up in the middle of the ocean.

Appears to be an issue in Chrome on both Mac and PC (running version 19.0.1084.46 m)
Tested in IE9, FF 12, Opera 11.64 and Safari 5.1.7 worked

    Re: Map Pan not working

    Hi,

Chrome 19 seems to cause a several bugs when using the Nokia Maps API, we are tracing the problem but it looks like Chrome 19 is at fault as everything works fine in Chrome Canary (21.0.1140.0).

There is a workaround to get things working again by switching to classic DOM map which does not use hardware acceleration optimizations, note that this workaround will result in performance issue on mobile devices

In your code you need to add an extra parameter (map=js-p2d-dom) to the inclusion URL for the Nokia Maps API
    <script type="text/javascript" charset="UTF-8" src="http://api.maps.nokia.com/2.2.0/jsl.js?with=maps&map=js-p2d-dom"></script>

    Re: Map Pan not working

Is there any way to implement this variable when initializing the map using the API? Or does this have to be set when the script is loaded?

    Re: Map Pan not working

No you can only set this option whilst loading the script.

We have identified the cause of the issue as a browser bug in Chrome 19 and filled a bug with the Google Chrome team (http://code.google.com/p/chromium/is...tail?id=129169)
An emergency patch has been applied to every Nokia Maps release so everything should work within a couple of hours on Chrome 19.

If you did change the URL inclusion of Nokia MAps API please change it back to
    <script type="text/javascript" charset="UTF-8" src="http://api.maps.nokia.com/2.2.0/jsl.js?with=maps"></script>
