    COD Processing Type

    Hi,

I have a few COD files which have an additional attribute called COD-Processing-Type. The definition of this attribute is PicMsg or Operator Logo.

I am interested in knowing the significance of this attribute, and also all the possible definitions.

I do not see this in the COD_OTA_Specification_v1_1i however, without it some of the functionality of my application is not usable.

Any help will be highly appreciated. If this is not a part of Nokia COD content then please let me know. I will also appreciate it if you could point me to other sources, if required.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Amitabh

    Hi,

From where you have get the info that there's an attribute called COD-Processing-Type??

COD specification v1.1 defines the following attributes:
    - COD-Type
    - COD-Size
    - COD-URL
    - COD-Description
    - COD-Vendor
    - COD-Price
    - COD-Install-Notify
    - COD-Info-URL
    - COD-Name
    - COD-Next-URL
    - COD-Next-URLatError
    - COD-Icon-URL

    Best regards,

Let me explain this in a bit more detail.

I am testing a software which allows suppliers to upload content so that it can be available for download by subscribers.
The supplier uploads content with types set as Wallpaper, Screensaver, Image, or Operator Logo.
All these contents are downloaded as a Screensaver on a handset (Nokia 3410).
There is only one COD file which has COD-Processing-Type as PicMsg which allows me to download a wbmp file as a Picture Message. Interestingly the mime type defined in the COD is image/gif. Here it is:
    COD-Name: MyPic
    COD-URL: http://localhost/get
    COD-Install-Notify: http://localhost/status
    COD-Next-URL: http://localhost/next
    COD-Next-URLatError: http://localhost/error
    COD-Description: My logo
    COD-Vendor: Amitabh
    COD-Size: 4765
    COD-Type: image/gif
    COD-Processing-Type: PicMsg

I even created a COD file with mime type as image/vnd.nok-picturemessage and tried to download it as such, but it still came through as a Screensaver. I dont know if I am doing something wrong, if there is a problem with the firmware, or I need to do something else at the server level. I got some info at the following thread which may help my developers solve the issue http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...threadid=17199

    I appreciate your help.

    Hi,

As I said earlier there's no such attribute defined in COD as COD-Processing-Type. Also, do you have proper MIME-types assigned in your server side?

Apparently the earlier version of the specification had a mention of the COD-Processing-Type.
Yes, we have the proper mime type associated on the server side. I am not sure whether this is a Websphere issue though (which is what we are using).

I was able to successfully receive the Operator Logo on Nokia 6100 from the site mentioned in another thread on this board.
