Exclamation Purchase problem for same UID Free & Paid app

We have two applications published in store, each in a free and paid versions.
Now noticed a serious problem with the Nokia Store client.

On S^3 when user has installed the free version of the application, it is impossible to make a purchase the paid version.
Instead "buy" button Nokia Store client shows the "run" button. It starts already installed free version...
Both versions of the apps use the same UID.
It looks like S^3 Nokia Store client monitors the presence of application only by UID

On S^1 there is no problem, everything works as it should.

What is the problem? How to it fix?
We lose sales because not all users realize, first remove the free version before buying.

We use different UIDs for demo and full version of our Symbian games, in order to be sure that it works.

Probably because in both demo and full version you use the same uid for both version.Nokia use the application uid to differentiante your application, not the application name.

Re: Purchase problem for same UID Free & Paid app

How is it possible to publish the same UID for a paid and for a free version?
It should not be possible, and the store shouldn't accept your second app in the QA.
I discovered Qt in the summer 2010, it was sooo easy and nice to use, that I begun to write some apps.
Thank you Nokia, for giving me this possibility!

It is possible. For S^1 everything works fine.
Full version just automatically placed over the trial.
The user do not need to manually delete the trial.
And saving UIDs, because each application contains 3-4 components (help, autostart, etc.)

I think it is possible since qa assume this an update or change to the app

This is allowed because you can publish the same app multiple times to different markets or handsets. I do this with one of my apps so that I have one version for China with the necessary Chineese disclaimer etc and another version for the rest of the world, and they share the same UID.

CLT´s case is possible due to a separate store for China. For the original question duplicate UID´s are mixing up the S^3 client update function. Do not do it and it is against the rules!
