    Cool Iam facing difficulty with S60 RTP/RTC API which I have bulit with s60 3rd fp2 SDK

    I have downloaded the S60 RTP/RTC API application from

    http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...DK_API_Plug-in

    S60 3rd Edition SDK, Feature Pack 2 (Symbian C++) .

    I have found all the libraries and header files to be included in the epoc32 etc. When I have compiled and trying to install, it is saying "Unable to Install". Pleae correct the error by giving the reasons for the error.

    Basically you would need to figure out what is wrong with your pkg file. So try commenting lines out from it until you find the line causing the problem. And then if you can not figure out what is wrong with it, then identify it and copy paste the pkg file in here.

    Please do find the line causing the problem before replying into this thread, that way we can solve the problem fastest way.

    ok Initially package file was like below:

    #{"streamer"},(0x2000521C),2,31,0;
    ;
    ;*SDK Compatibility Product UID/Platform Identification String
    ;This should specify the highest SDK version your application will support.
    ;Not all platforms support this feature.
    ;Series 60 v3.1
    [0x101F7961], 0,0,0, {"Series60ProductID"}

    ;*Unique (Non-Localised) Vendor name
    ;This is used in combination with signing to prevent the unauthroized
    ;upgrade ofa a package by someone other than the rightful vendor.
    :"Nokia"

    ;*Localized Vendor Name
    ;This specifies the localised vendor name(s) correspodning to language(s).
    %{"Nokia"}

    ;*Files To Copy...<src> <destination>
    ;The destination files should be a full path. If you use a '!' character
    ;instead of a drive letter, ther user should be given the choice of the drive
    ;to install the file to (on supported Symbian devices).
    "E:\symbian\S60_3rd_MR_2\EPOC32\RELEASE\armv5\urel\streamer.exe" -"!:\sys\bin\streamer.exe"
    "E:\symbian\S60_3rd_MR_2\EPOC32\data\Z\private\10003a3f\apps\StreamerReg.R01" -"!:\private\10003a3f\import\apps\StreamerReg.rsc"
    "E:\symbian\S60_3rd_MR_2\EPOC32\data\Z\resource\apps\streamer.R01" -"!:\resource\apps\streamer.rsc"
    "E:\symbian\S60_3rd_MR_2\EPOC32\data\Z\resource\apps\streamerLoc.R01" -"!:\resource\apps\streamerLoc.rsc"

    Now I have changed to as below and compiled

    #{"Streamer"},(0xef93cfc8),1,0,0

    ;Localised Vendor name
    %{"Vendor-EN"}

    ;Unique Vendor name
    :"Vendor"

    ;Supports Series 60 v 3.0
    [0x101F7961], 0, 0, 0, {"Series60ProductID"}

    ;Files to install
    ;You should change the source paths to match that of your environment
    ;<source> <destination>
    "C:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32\release\armv5\urel\Streamer_0xef93cfc8.exe" -"!:\sys\bin\Streamer_0xef93cfc8.exe"
    "C:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32\data\z\resource\apps\Streamer_0xef93cfc8.rsc" -"!:\resource\apps\Streamer_0xef93cfc8.rsc"
    "C:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32\data\z\private\10003a3f\apps\Streamer_0xef93cfc8_reg.rsc" -"!:\private\10003a3f\import\apps\Streamer_0xef93cfc8_reg.rsc"
    "C:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32\data\z\resource\apps\Streamer_0xef93cfc8.mif" -"!:\resource\apps\Streamer_0xef93cfc8.mif"

    "C:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32\data\Z\private\10003a3f\apps\StreamerReg.R01" -"!:\private\10003a3f\import\apps\StreamerReg.rsc"
    "C:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32\data\Z\resource\apps\streamerLoc.R01" -"!:\resource\apps\streamerLoc.rsc"

    ; Add any installation notes if applicable
    ;"Streamer.txt" -"!:\private\ef93cfc8\Streamer.txt"

    ;required for application to be covered by backup/restore facility
    "..\sis\backup_registration.xml" -"!:\private\ef93cfc8\backup_registration.xml".

    You have not changed the folder id in the destination location here:
    Code:
    "C:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32\data\z\private\10003a3f\apps\Streamer_0xef93cfc8_reg.rsc" -"!:\private\10003a3f\import\apps\Streamer_0xef93cfc8_reg.rsc"
    Also, you should not mention the hard coded paths (for files) in the source.

    GTO_India, please read what was written, I asked you to identify the line causing the problem not to just do some random changes which are not helping.

    Re: Iam facing difficulty with S60 RTP/RTC API which I have bulit with s60 3rd fp2

    Why wouldn't you just try whether it is this line that gives the problems ?

    basically simply comment it out, and see what happens, if it does not help, try commenting other lines until you find the line that causes the problem..

    I would actually start by commenting out two lines:

    "C:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32\data\Z\private\10003a3f\apps\StreamerReg.R01" -"!:\private\10003a3f\import\apps\StreamerReg.rsc"
    "C:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32\data\Z\resource\apps\streamerLoc.R01" -"!:\resource\apps\streamerLoc.rsc"
