    MIDI for N-Gage

    Hi All,
Does anybody have experience playing MIDI files under N-Gage SDK for rich games 1.0 beta? I tried both CMdaAudioRecorderUtility and CMdaAudioPlayerUtility. Both utilities are created normally but neither of them call the callback notification to indicate that file is open. I open midi file from memory. Other things being equal wav files are played without problems. Can anybody advice what to do?
    Thanks,

    Hello,

Found this under the "solved cases" section:

    Question:
Is there an API that can play MIDI files from a descriptor or a memory buffer?

    Answer:
In the current versions of Series 60 as supported by Series 60 SDK for Symbian OS v 1.0 this kind of API is not available. You would have to save the file on a temporary file in order to play it.

so propably you can't play a midi from memory with either of those classes
