Question listening for codes via phone call

    Hi all
    I have a doubt here,
when you make a phone call to a call center they ask you to press 1 , 2 or3 depending on what kind of service you want , and reroutes the call.
so is it possible for Symbian to get those kind of key presses from the other end? , what is this mechanism called!!?

its called DTMF, and the public SDK does not include API for getting these ones. If I remember right the APIs would be included in Etelmm parts.

    Hello,
i think you are referring to DTMF tones.

To generate DTMF tones you can use CTelephony API:
    http://library.developer.nokia.com/i...hony/dtmf.html

To "listen" DTMF tones maybe you'll have to dig into symbian sources or PDK:

    hope it helps,
    regards
