    Create A Shortcut Link

    Programming for S40.
Using Nokia SDK 2.0 for Java, lwuit.

I not sure where to post this issue. But i do know this may be related to security issue.

    Main
I would like to build an apps to execute apps within user phone.
Its like setting a shortcut code to run the apps.
There are API for Map, GPS, Camera, SMS,...

After doing some research, it seems there are no related API to execute apps from a app. (Hope Im not missing any.) Based on security and some role issue, of course this is not allow.
But to do this app, this may be need some advice from you about the API and security issue.

If there is no API related, please do inform me about this.

    Re: Create A Shortcut Link

Here is a somewhat related question from yesterday, http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...on-click-event, you may want to chech the thread suggested by Tiger79 there.
There is some platformRequest API, you may want to read about that too. Google searches like platformrequest site:nokia.com wiki (perhaps without the Wiki too) may reveal interesting readings.

    Re: Create A Shortcut Link

    Thanks for the reply.
It seems I had misunderstanding myself about calling "Apps". Should means midlet.
Anyway it seems the forum had drag me to some hints but still not get the answer.

The platformrequest() and pushregistry maybe a big deal for me. Is there any possible to get a documentation?

**Same thing again. Im trying to run midlet like Phone, Social, Calender, Messages which originally had existed within phone.

Note that the phone functions you list are not midlets. Series 40 is not a Java-based platform (in contrast to Android as an obvious example), it is just capable of running some Java code.

    Re: Create A Shortcut Link

    Oh my...

If it is true, i had to think around again. May be I had to use like Viper instead of Phone, WhatsApp instead of SMS, Facebook instead of Social.

Well, thanks in advance. You save me a lot of time running around blindly.
I had to figure out how to get the apps that had been downloaded by user. And then run it with platformrequest() Or pushregistry.
    Good Luck on me.
