Signing Symbian App in Nokia Store.

    Hello All,

I am trying to submit a simple symbian c++ application, which simply has a single view. Following is the procedure i used:

    1. Requested UIDs from developer support at nokia publisher.
    2. Packages the the application with the UID provided.
    3. Tested the app with the povisioning sis file nokia gave me for some IMEI numbers.
    4. Submitted the unsigned sis file to Nokia Store with the uid provided by nokia but the QA at nokia store are complaining about:

Unable to install a protected application from a supplier that is not trusted

Can somebody help me what wrong i am doing here??

You must left the "global vendor name" and "localised vendor name" empty. This error happen when you try to install app that use protected uid but left the vendor name empty or use "vendor" only.

Did you check both the app smart installer and the sis files?

Ohhhh,i though it is qt app.So your app is symbian native app.Looks like need to wait for symbianyucca. As i know, this error is cause by vendor name issue when use a protected uid.

Re: Signing Symbian App in Nokia Store.

Simply reading the message it seems like the Store guys assumed the application was signed already, tried to install, failed, reject.
But I do not know how that happens (assuming it signed), nor I have any idea why this question has been moved here (I remember seeing it in the Publish boards originally).
As it can be some mis-handling issue, it is Jukka who can look into it, I hope you have sent him the ID.

Re: Signing Symbian App in Nokia Store.

Basically as there are not many things which would cause this error, I would suggest you would check what kind of signing i used with the embedded sis file you have included into the sis, and see whether it is actually it which is causing the error, and not the actual sis file for your own application.

Re: Signing Symbian App in Nokia Store.

Nokia Publish signs the outermost package only, the one which is actually published in the Store. All embedded packages have to be signed already, in a trusted way (express or certified signed). The various components you can get from this site (redistributables in plug-in packs, CameraWrapper and similar API-s) are signed already. However if you develop your own component/API and want to have it as an embedded package, that has to be signed separately via Symbian Signed.

The only exception is Qt Smart Installer.

Re: Signing Symbian App in Nokia Store.

Basically just follow up the suggestion and check that you do have version of teh sis which has valid signing.

Re: Signing Symbian App in Nokia Store.

Basically You could also use the signsis to check certificate information on sis files, including the embedded one, and make sure it only has valid certificate(s). Also you should also check whether you get any errors when you try installing your own sis to devices it should install to. Let me know what you find, and I'll see if I get to office on monday and re-check your file.

Re: Signing Symbian App in Nokia Store.

    hi thanks for the tip,

i tried embedding the latest sis file but still it fails and i am not able to install on the phone, i have one doubt in pkg file i mention something like:

    ;CameraWrapper
    @"camerawrapper.sisx", (0x2001ec5f)

And i am concerned the uid i have mentioned is the problem ??
