Does the Nokia 2.0 SDK support Chinese?

Im trying to add Chinese support in a lwuit J2ME app, but I dont believe the font's are installed in the sdk? Are they? Where can I download the installer to make it work?

All i found on google was that in 1.0 sdk beta it says that the 65 language pack is installed by default. (http://anshuchoudhury.files.wordpres...stallation.pdf)
However in Tools/Prefs/General/Current Language I only see a couple.

    Any help is much appreciated

Generally XY language support means that you can develop an application for using XY language, and it is going to be run fine on devices which support XY language. So the fonts are on the device already in this case.
LWUIT may work in a different way using its own fonts perhaps, I admit I do not know for sure.
Instead of WordPress blogs, you may want to check the release notes, they are packed with the SDK-s, and downloadable separately (from https://www.developer.nokia.com/Deve...platform_SDKs/), it says 69 languages by the way, but does not name any of them. It is still a safe bet that Chinese is amongst them.
Yes, it is also normal that the emulator itself supports a couple languages only.

Re: Does the Nokia 2.0 SDK support Chinese?

Hi Rob16299! Welcome to Nokia Developer Discussion Boards!!

I have Nokia SDK 2.0 installed and I can see a long list of supported languages in the scroll. (I remember in old Series 40 SDK normally have to download World Languages Packs - but I didnt download any additional language pack in this case. I can see Chineese_Simplified & Chineese_Traditional in the SDK.

    Regards

    Hi. Thanks for the reply's
I dont see Chineese_Simplified & Chineese_Traditional in the SDK that I downloaded and have been using.
Do you have the world pack installed right now? Should i download a old s40 sdk, install the word pack, and will it work also for the 2.0 sdk?

    Thanks!

@Rob, I didnt install any Language packs with this SDK. I will check with my friends in SDK team and will let you know if there are any known issues.

Re: Does the Nokia 2.0 SDK support Chinese?

Seems I got the answer myself!

From the Windows menu > Nokia Developer Tools > Nokia SDK 2.0 for Java > SDK Manager > Install /uninstall SDK components > Check world language pack (incase its unchecked in your case) and select Next and install. Hope that will solve your issue.

    Regards
    Gopal
