    Porting Android to Windows Phone

I'm new to Android development and recently developed an app for my thesis. How long will it take me to port it to windows phone?

That depends on your app. You can consider searching for articles for porting and then based on your appliction you can estimate. Some can be found in our wiki itself. http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu..._Phone_Porting

Also your favourite search engine can be your good friend here

Just to add what Symbian_Neil suggested, I remember Android to WP API mapping tool http://wp7mapping.interoperabilitybr...source=Android
And this Blog post on Porting Android to WP also would help to get started : http://blogs.windows.com/windows_pho...lications.aspx

Also as Symbian_Neil suggested a nice search engine could really help you here!

    Regards

And don't forget the UI design, some basic guidelines are listed here https://dev.windowsphone.com/en-us/design/principles

But if you're really new to Windows Phone, go to the Marketplace/Store and search for apps similar to yours to get an idea of how apps should look and feel - Android is very different to Windows Phone in this regard.
