    Re: Symbian online library

Too bad, so when Nokia quickly remove online documentation, while Symbian is still quite hardy for many users.
Indeed, to find something in the standalone SDK documentation very difficult, but that quickly finds the online documentation.
Please save the Wiki pages in the archive for download!
I am afraid that the Wiki pages Symbian may soon disappear completely..... ((

    Re: Symbian online library

Funny thing is that I wanted to check something in rconnmon.h, and actually found it, a couple minutes ago, http://www.developer.nokia.com/docum...8h-source.html
Actually a complete S60 3rd FP1 doc seems to be there at http://www.developer.nokia.com/docum...opers_Library/, just it has no search feature for example.

    https://www.developer.nokia.com/Deve...Documentation/

    Re: Symbian online library

I'm considering publishing the latest version of the developer library online to have it indexed by search engines. I'm just a bit concerned about the license which says:
"A licence is hereby granted to download and print a copy of this document for personal use only. No other licence to any other intellectual property rights is granted herein."
Shall I go ahead and publish it anyway? Surely Nokia won't sue me for making it easier to develop for their devices. It's fairly easy to extract the HTML from that eclipse plug-in.
Really sad that they did not bother keeping it online.

I don't even know who you are with just your username so go ahead. You will do some symbian developer a favor. If nokia have no interest anymore we should do something to keep certain things alive.Like the expert say "thing that is on internet will never disappear".

Are you thinking of hosting the Symbian source code on http://projects.developer.nokia.com ? Not doable! I know, I tried. Google for symaptic you'll see.
Anyway I just published Belle Symbian Developer Library there: http://devlib.symbian.slions.net/
It's minimalistic but that should do for now. I asked Goolge to crawl it so hopefully it should get indexed within a few days.

I mean symbian^3 source not belle.Technically there is nothing wrong as it is open source anyway. Also if possible all documentation about symbian.Really wish there is some kind of archive in one place. Not wish to see symbian end up like uiq where now there are no documentation about it anymore or scattered everywhere.

"Once upon a time opensource" Symbian has found home here:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/symbiandump/

Docs links have been posted in #20 and #21.

About fading memories, this is sort of goldmine:
    http://archive.org/web/web.php

    regards,

Technically S^3 source code is way to big for Nokia projects to handle it, or source forge for that matter. I know I tried both. You need to host your own mercurial repositories.
Legally if you start publishing Belle source code you gonna be in trouble, so yes I was talking about S^3

    Re: Symbian online library

I've improved performance and provided a nice frame and javascript version of Belle devlib there:
    http://devlib.symbian.slions.net

I might consider indexing and proving a search functionality at some point.
