Well, it doesn't sound PIM related... you have some code somewhere in your app that opens an HttpConnection?

That's the code that's throwing the exception. Has it changed?

    Re: 8-Error in HTTP operation

Look at the HTTP code. There are only certain methods that can throw this exception. When you open the HttpConnection, when you use it, or when you read, write or flush any of its Input- or OutputStreams.

You need to find out where it is being thrown. You must be catching the IOException in a catch{} somewhere. Try adding an "e.printStackTrace()" at the start of the catch{} block, so you can get more information. Try adding some System.out.println("...") calls in the code, to see if this helps spot where the exception is being thrown. Even better, if you can run the app in debug, single-step the code.

    Graham.

What are you running this on? Device, emulator, make, model, version, as much detail as possible, please.

    Edit:

There are lots of messages in the form "java.io.IOException: n-Error in HTTP operation".

I can make an "8" happen by red-button terminating the app in the middle of trying to connect to a server that exists but has no HTTP service on it.

I guess you're not doing that. So...

Check that the server is running and is accessible. Can you access it from the browser on the device/emulator?

Is there a long delay after the "this app wants to connect" prompt and the error, or is it immediate? Can you describe the sequence of events, with any delays?
