    Question Music Explore - detecting content fully loaded and progress bar?

    I have the Music Explorer sample fully running now. I'd like to be able to put up a progress bar that tells the user how far along the content download is during the app's startup phase. Then when the content is fully loaded, I'd like to tell them that. If someone out there has done work with this sample, can you give me a jump start on where I would find the relevant code to do this quickly?

    Hello,

    I still didn't have a look on that simple on vs, but here is what you'll have to do,

    I remember seeing a MainViewModel.cs in the projet page, declare a boolean property in it,
    Code:
    private Boolean _isLoading;
    public Boolean IsLoading{get{return _isLoading;}set{_isLoading = value;RaisePropertyChanged("IsLoading");}};
    then search for the line that loads the content and just put before and after it something like this,
    Code:
    IsLoading = true; // just before the loading starts
    LoadData(); //the line that loads content
    IsLoading = false; // just after the loading finishes
    and then just bing your progress bar IsIndeterminate property with that boolean in your xaml.

    Yassine,

    Hello Yassine,

    Thanks! I'll try that.

    Any ideas on a progress bar? I know it's probably difficult since you have be able to query the host (Nokia Music API) and ask how much content (the # of files, or the # of bytes) is about to be delivered, and I don't know if there's an API call for that. But if there is a way to do that, let me know.

    Sincerely,
    Robert

    How long does it regularly take for the data to load in your experience? If it doesn't take a lot of time the indeterminate state might be the best solution because it shows the user that the App is working on something. Especially if it's hard to predict exactlly how far you have progressed.
