    Strange Behavior With Scrolling Areas

    I have a problem with scrollable areas, it seems like it only the "highest" scrollable area is actually scrollable (highest means that it was first declared in html). But only if it was already shown...

    I created an example app for you to test this behavior:
    http://dev-wam.browser.ovi.com/wam/v...type=webapp1_0
    or short: http://eve-c.org/ex

    The first page always works as expected. But when changing the page, only earlier declared pages work....

    Page-Structure:
    Code:
    		<div id="page1" class="sectionizer hide">
    	        <div class="ui-header"><div class="ui-title inline"><h1>Page 1</h1></div><div class="refresh-icon inline"><a onclick="refreshPageContent();"><img alt="icon" src="s40-theme/images/refresh_40x40.png"/></a></div></div>
    	        <div class="content">
    	        	<button class="ui-button" style="width: 200px; margin: 10px 20px;" onclick="mwl.setGroupTarget('#pages', '#page2', 'show', 'hide');">Jump To 2</button>
    	        	<button class="ui-button" style="width: 200px; margin: 10px 20px;" onclick="mwl.setGroupTarget('#pages', '#page3', 'show', 'hide');">Jump To 3</button>
    	 			<p> A LOT OF TEXT</p>
    			</div>
    			<div class="footer"><h2>FOOTER CONTENT</h2></div>
    		</div>
    CSS:
    Code:
    @charset "utf-8";

    .content {
    	height: 300px;
    	overflow: scroll;
    }

    .footer {
    	height: 60px;
    	background-color: grey;
    }

    .ui-header {
    	height: 40px;
    	overflow: hidden;
    	background-image: url(../images/title-bar.png);
    	background-repeat: repeat-x;
    	background-position: left top;
    }
    Full code and css is available in the linked app.

    No, it has nothing to do with the sectionizer Class, this one is jsut for you if you open the webapp in a normal browser.

    Any know how to fix this? Is it a bug or am I have some crazy CSS error?
    I'm not able to fix this... tried it for ~4h, enough.

    Byebye,

    Ludger

    The problem is in your CSS.

    .content {
    height: 300px;
    overflow: scroll;
    }

    Change that to...

    .content {
    height: 300px;
    overflow: hidden;
    }

    Well, I cannot try it right now, have to wait until tomorrow. But I think your suggested change will not make the content areas scrollable...

    Edit:
    I tried it and it doesn't work. I updated the example app. Also tried to add the style direct to the tag but it's not working either.
    I think I found a BIG bug...

    overflow: hidden worked for me? When I open your example, I don't see scroll bars.

    Am I missing something?

    What device do you use? Can you scroll through the text on one of the pages? (If it is working, you should be able on Page 1-3).

    Nokia Browser in Asha Touch only shows a scroll bar while scrolling.

    Hey, you said you want people to create stunning interfaces with overflow: scroll and now I have a basic question and nobody answers? Just point me to a working example and I do the learning by myself but please tell if I do anything fundamentally wrong.

    I copied your code into a new project in Nokia Web Tools and changed the CSS and it worked fine for me.

    Perhaps you can create a WGT demonstrating the issue, upload it to Dropbox (or where ever) and I can try importing it and replicating the issue on my end.

    Of course: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resi...NPcyCWhNVehfwM

    In post #1 I also have this app online. In the emulator everything is working fine. The problem is on device (in my case, the 311).

    Hi Ludger,

    Sorry for late reply. I checked your example application and saw exactly same issues with 311.
    I'll take this to R&D to investigate this issue further.

    Thanks for reporting this issue.

    Is this problem fixed with the upcoming 3.0 release?
    I sure hope so.

    Re: Strange Behavior With Scrolling Areas

    I'm happy to inform you, that it seems like they solved this bug with the upcoming 3.0 release of the Nokia Browser.
    At least it seems so, because the app works as expected on the Asha 501 (tested via RDA).
