    NoClasDefFoundErr for TargetListener class

I am trying to run an NFC based application created by someone.
For that I've installed "Nokia IDE for JavaME" in my Eclipse Indigo. The SDK is: "Nokia SDK 2.0 for Java".

The application uses javax.microedition.contactless.TargetListener class. For that jsr257_1.jar file is also included in the Libraries in the "Java Build Path" panel of "Project Properties". But still I'm getting the error NoClassDefFoundErr for the TargetListener class when I run the application.

I'm clueless at the moment. Please someone suggest something on this issue.

    Re: NoClasDefFoundErr for TargetListener class

    Hi,

It could be the problem of the SDK. Can you please check Nokia 6212 SDK , I found the link for the same http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...jump_start.pdf , here some tutorials are also there. You can refer the same. If still it doesnt work then check here http://epic.hpi.uni-potsdam.de/foswi...de_v1_1_en.pdf , this should resolve your issue.

These documents are quite useful. The first document's instructions itself solved the problem. Indeed the problem was in SDK.
Thanks a lot Departed for the response.

    Re: NoClasDefFoundErr for TargetListener class

Nokia sdk 2.0 is based on the Nokia Asha full touch series (311 and alike)
those devices dont come with NFC and thus their SDK does not come with NFC capabilities.
The only s40 devices that had nfc are 6212 6131 but they are very old device and are not currently in the general circulation.
So you need to think about your target audiance for your app, if you want MUST have nfc then the latest symbian devices did came with NFC and it is also supported via J2ME (the 603,700,701,808)
