    Map Control Pitch Issue

I'm using the Map control in windows phone and I'm setting the Pitch property.
I noticed that there is a "dead area" at the top of the map control where you see some "sky" like gradient instead of rendering more map content.
You can see an example here: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Resou...-the-maps.html
Look for the pitch example and see the dead area.

It sounds to me like an issue because this is a valuable area where you can draw more map instead of this sky rendering.

Has anyone was able to workaround this issue? Maybe enlarging the map control size and clipping it somehow?

BTW, this same "issue" is happening in the HERE Drive+ application in my Lumia 920.

    Thanks,
    Raanan

    Re: Map Control Pitch Issue

    Thanks for the quick reply!!

Just for my curiosity, is there a good reason for this feature? it seems to me that it's a waste of drawing area.

Anyway, can I workaround this somehow? Maybe enlarge the map control a bit and clip the area where the sky is rendered? Someone have tried it?

    Re: Map Control Pitch Issue

I did not design the map controls, anyway, I would assume that its clearer for the user when its displayed in the designed way. Also I'm not aware of any ways on having it to behave any other way. So if you don't want the sky to be shown, then do not use the Pitch property.
