    NFC tag NDEF MIME type, popup message.

    When I'm trying to read NFC tag with custom MIME NDEF, following
    message appears: "Sorry, your phone can't recognise this type
    of file". Data is handled correctly by application.
    How to get rid off this popup message?

    What is your phone/OS? I never saw that message on Windows Phone...

    EDIT: Looks like that happens when you trying to build a custom MIME message and the OS does not recognize any app that opens that file type.

    You may consider dreading this article and see how you can register file associations, custom URI, etc.

    We have an article on custom URI on our wiki also:
    http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu..._Windows_Phone

    And I also recomend everyone to take a look at this NFC article on our wiki:

    Let us know if any of this helped.

    (Indeed, older posts of the user are about an NFC-capable Series 40 device, the Nokia 6212)

    Re: NFC tag NDEF MIME type, popup message.

    I'm using Nokia Lumia/WP8 And what is file assosiation for custom MIME type?

    I've subscribed for NFC NDEF:MIME message. NFC tag is recognised and NDEFHandler is called, but at the same time I've got popup message:

    "Sorry, your phone can't recognise this type of file"

    ProximityDevice device = ProximityDevice.GetDefault();
    device.SubscribeForMessage("NDEF:MIME.app/x-somename", NDEFHandler);

    private async void NDEFHandler(ProximityDevice sender, ProximityMessage message)
    {

    var rawMsg = message.Data.ToArray();
    var ndefMsg = NdefMessage.FromByteArray(rawMsg);
    var ndefRec = ndefMsg[0];
    string recordType = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(ndefRec.Type, 0, ndefRec.Type.Length);
    string payload = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(ndefRec.Payload, 0, ndefRec.Payload.Length);

    }
