It is not possible. Series 40 platform does not support 3rd-party plug-ins/extensions for built-in applications.

It is not possible. Series 40 does not support extending built-in applications, and it does not support invoking the SMS editor either.
However note that you can send SMS-s from your own code, with MessageConnection (Wireless Messaging API).

    Yes, I understand.
so please send me the source code for this default applications
Source code for the operating systems and built-in applications of Nokia devices is generally not available.
    in j2me.
The main thing here is that Nokia Asha and Series 40 platforms are actually not running on Java. They are capable of running Java ME applications, but the platform itself is a native, proprietary operating system, running native proprietary applications. As such their views are not available from Java ME code.

I do not know about similar ready-made views, but it is certainly possible to create something really similar using LWUIT, and it can be exactly reproduced with Canvas-based implementation, just this latter one takes a lot of time. Consider trying LWUIT if you have not used it so far.

I'd love to be able to do this as well, maybe just with a platformRequest("sms://") call.

Would make an awesome "Share with a friend" button in a game right after achieving some high score. Open an SMS window and put "Hey I just scored 4829345 points in this awesome game".

You can find the list of prefix supported for platformRequest here

    Thanks shai.

It's a little strange though, that sms:// is not included in the table, but it's included as an example at the bottom.

In my case, sms:// wouldn't be of much help though. I'd need to be able to open the SMS editor and pre-type a text, and not send the phone-number. The user should select the phone-number.

Now, it is not possible, however.
tell me also that we are able to use default nokia api or not
As it is not possible, there is no default Nokia API for this purpose.
