What is the Lumia phone browswer default? Desktop or Mobile?

We have launched an HTML5 version of our app and now we noticed that it doesn't seem to open at all in the desktop version on the Lumia devices which is really weird. The page is www.calmighty.info. Our users approached us and started complaining and we can't quantify the extent of the problem unless we know how many users actually have this problem. One way is to know what is the default. So, does anyone know what the default is for IE in Lumia phones.

The majority of our users have Lumia 920, 820 and 800.

    Thanks,
    Tomi

    For Windows Phone 7 (Lumia 610, 710, 800, and 900), the browser is IE9.

    For Windows Phone 8 (Lumia 520, 620, 720, 820, and 920), the browser is IE10.

With that said, it isn't 100% the same as their desktop counterparts but core JS, HTML and CSS is there - only some really advanced HTML5 features are missing (eg. Webfonts on IE9 on WP7).

Also, the only difference between 'desktop' and 'mobile' mode is the user-agent string that is sent. The default on a phone, when first setup, is 'mobile'.

Can you give any more detail on the issues you're having ?

Thanks, the issue we encountered was totally new. When opening the site www.calmighty.info from a Lumia phone with the Browser setting in "Desktop" mode the page does not open at all, but once you switch the settings to "Mobile" it starts working.

So if I understand you correctly the IE browser settings in the Lumia phones are set to "Mobile" as default?

yes but only on first use. After that the user can change to whatever he/she wants. So you should not assume anything... you should try to get that fixed on the website. Should not be that hard. Its IE9 / IE10 in desktop mode.
